Lara Logan is a South African–born journalist and war correspondent, best known for her work with CBS News and 60 Minutes. She spent years on the frontlines of conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, and beyond—earning respect for her fearless reporting and ability to bring global audiences into the heart of war zones. But in February 2011, while covering the Egyptian Revolution in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, she endured one of the most horrific experiences a journalist can face. As crowds gathered to celebrate the fall of President Hosni Mubarak, Logan and her team were separated. She was surrounded by a mob of men, pulled into the crowd and physical attacked , stripped, and SA for nearly 30 minutes. Her life was only spared when a group of women and Egyptian soldiers intervened and carried her to safety. Lara was flown back to the United States for treatment, and the incident was widely reported around the world. What makes her story so powerful is that she chose not to remain silent. By sharing her experience, Lara Logan shed light on the dangers faced by journalists—especially women—in volatile environments, while also opening up global conversations about sexual violence and resilience. She remains recognized both for her groundbreaking reporting and for her extraordinary courage in speaking out after surviving an unthinkable ordeal. Lara’s legacy is one of truth, strength, and an unwavering commitment to her work, even after tragedy. #laralogan #truecrime #journalist #horror - @unknownlovedone
