This is something I HAAATED in Germany. I had a really bad cold at one point, and had to go beg the pharmacist for decongestants. She slapped two different meds on the counter and asked which one I wanted without telling me angthing about them. When I asked her the differences and cost, she literally rolled her eyes and went “UGGH” 😭

oh is that not how all medication is handled in general? Why would you just let people grab medication and risk they pick the wrong one 🤔 you can't get aspirin or ibuprofen without talking to them either

pharmacy is the simplest task that becomes the most convoluted and annoying part of a medical visit. Especially if you use a new pharmacy. wait 4 hours for whatever needs to happen.. only to find out it's out of stock..

Your mistake was to open with a„I think I have this and that…“ That makes them go into consultation-Mode 😂! You need to come prepared and know the name of the medication and say „I want BiFanal 3 Kombi“ or alternatively you know the compound and say „I want a Nystatin Creme“ ( with this they will offer you multiple ones with different prices.) 😉

haha yeah I can see why that makes you uncomfortable, but in Europe (at least I think it's the same in every country here) that's pretty normal. if you have a health problem but don't want to go to the doctor's immediately you can ask for help in the pharmacy
