My ChatGPT has been nothing but helpful. Always turning me to ask for human help even if the conversation is not “emotional” (which has been a bit annoying at times because of all the filters). I have had long conversations for the past few months and I have yet to see anything harmful. It does know to say “no” to me. It doesn’t agree with everything I say. If anything, Gemini has been more agreeable to “bad” ideas. I ask them weird things to test them quite often. I wonder what the “personalization” settings looked like? That could have had a ton to do with the behavior experienced.

I think it’s so tragic that people don’t have the resources for proper therapy, or feel that they have a support system to help them navigate these feelings (which are totally understandable and valid) and are left to use these LLM (large lenguaje models) because here’s the thing: it’s not intelligence, it’s a model that strings phrases that are more statistically probable to be together.
