@vikolinaa: I still remember the first time I developed urticaria hives. It wasn’t from something I ate or touched, it came when I was at one of my lowest emotional points. My body literally reacted to my feelings. It was like my stress, sadness, and overwhelm had nowhere else to go, so they showed up on my skin. That moment taught me how deeply connected the mind and body are. When we don’t process our emotions, our body finds its own way of speaking. For me, it was through hives. Now, I try to pay closer attention to my inner state, because healing isn’t just physical, it’s emotional too. #hives #urticaria #emotionaljourney

I get triggered by dust, perfume, heat, stress, sadness, tight clothes, spicy food, etc. I’ve been on Xolair for 7 months and it’s been life changing!

I used to get these all the time in my early 20s and saw many different doctors and no one could figure out what was causing them. Then sometime in my late 20s they just went away and I stopped getting them. It was a bizarre 5 years for sure

I had hives for 3-4 years turned out it was a hormone imbalance from birth control pills.

If you haven’t tried it yet, the Zyrtec + Pepcid combo helps a ton. I also take Singulair at night, and it keeps mine pretty manageable. I do Zyrtec + Pepcid in the morning, then Zyrtec + Pepcid + Singulair at night. Definitely see an allergist — they might not find the exact cause, but ask about autoimmune labs. My allergist was the one who added the Singulair. I’m also thinking about trying that new FDA-approved med for chronic hives, Rhapsido.

My legs were full, when I took my jeans off. I was so surprised, another time I had cried into my pillow and 10 minutes later on that side of my face my eye and lip had swollen up so much, as if I got stung by a wasp. I got scared. That’s when I learnt that my recent flare up of hives was due to my stress and emotions 😔

I have these so much I can’t control it. It’s ridiculous! I literally have had to cancel my plans because of my hives… and sometimes even work cuz my hands and feet and eyes are all puffy! Glad I found a group of people that understand it.

Hives are not a subcategory of urticaria. Urticaria IS hives. Take some Benadryl and a Zyrtec. Hope this helps. And also, Weak*.

I heard the windshield wipers and immediately understood, cold rain sucks cause it flairs so quick. Mine is triggered by abrupt temperature change, I can’t even drink or hold cold stuff without a flare. You aren’t alone!

I was diagnosed with idiopathic ultricaria autoimmunity 😭 I get hives whenever I'm emotional, so I've been working hard to keep stress at bay BUT ITS HARD. Then dust mites caused bad hives, I'm highly allergic and they are everywhere. I keep my Rainbow while home air purifier going almost 24/7
