Sadly, many of these conversations are just fishing for an ego boost after the most incremental of changes. And if you do give the reward, they tell themselves mission accomplished and they stop improving or even revert. 😔

While I appreciate the way the conversation begins, it appears a bit one sided. If it were me as the guy, after receiving the acknowledgement of the betterment of my behavior, I would love to be given room to give her feedback on how I perceived things during that time span as well and being asked if there were/are challenges that I am facing with my partner as well.
