I got a plant from the store, it says the parent plant isn’t edible but it has a small pineapple growing (it says the baby plants can be though) why can’t the parent plant be eaten ? I’m confused

What fertilizer do you use to help the pineapples get larger as well as I’m starting to grow mine but I don’t have a home so I’m growing it in a pot right now. Is it OK if I just get a really big pot to grow it in?

if you quarter them they will make up to 4 from one crown! I tried earlier this year and got 3 out of 4 quarters

I cut my pineapple top into 4 pieces and they all rooted and one even grew another next to it, so out of one pineapple top I've got 5 pineapples growing
