A factor poeple forget is that the British monarchy was “boring” they weren’t lavish like the French, Russian and the Austrians. This provided stability to the country and structure. They didn’t build palaces and threw parties that bankrupted a country. Their biggest scandal was a king marrying a divorcee that ended up dethroning him. Compare that to other monarchs and you see why they succeeded so long

Britain was an island and coulf focus on their navy and overseas colonies more effectively and France had much bigger problems on land and needed to focus on a large army engaged against enemies on their borders. 👍

Not surprising. When Britain is a island with enemies that makes a strong and ideally the strongest navy absolutely paramount. Being a planet that’s seventy percent water then makes a country with a powerful navy the default dominant power.

some people might look at the amount of territories conquered by France and thinking How they were not the the global superpower . Look at Russia Empire .The third largest empire yet it wasn't the global hegemon,Britain played their almost too well managed to become one of the first hyperpower and world police from 1815 to 1914 ,aka Pax Britannica.
