As much as I love Usopp, and understand his pov, I'd have to take Luffy's side as he's the captain and he made the choice he believed was right to keep moving forward, he loved the merry and respected Usopp, thus why he agreed to fight him even though he didn't want to, nor did he want to hurt Usopp. but luffy respected Usopp and agreed to the fight. I love both of them and understood both their pov's, but at the end I'm glad they made up and I hope Usopp could learn to be more confident in his skills, bc when Jr comes to long range combat, Usopp is definitely one of the bests! but he always finds himself in close to close combat💔

...I don't... understand peoole saying luffy was in the wrong here. the going merry was dying. she was on her last leg. that was an objective fact. it woukd have been foolish and dangerous to sail her further as a long term goal with the state she was in. like, she was and still is nakama. but would you bring a dying family member on an already dangerous trip when doing so woukd risk the lives of everyone else on the crew??? I understand from an emotional and sentimental standpoint why usopp especially was against it. but objectively, factually, logically, luffy was correct.

The biggest proof that luffy was wrong is the fact that he grew up from his mistakes, for example when sanji left the crew he didn’t respond with violence, he actually wanted to understand sanji without having to fight him

The entire point of this arc is for ussop to realize that luffy isnt a miracle worker and to stop relying so much upon his crew to solve everything, yall cant srsly be blaming luffy here when both of them were in the wrong, what was luffy supposed to do abt the going merry, they were told it’s not fixable, they wouldnt even make it to the next island with the goinf merry, the crew is more important bro even if the merry was part of the crew its still just an inanimate object, how is anyone supposed to understand ussop if he just kept getting angry and refusing to listen too reason he was lumping himself in with the going merry, luffy legit kept telling him to calm down and to listen to him, they know how much ussop loves the going merry they were tryna break it to him slowly, this is what happens when you guys refuse to pay attention, and regardless even if luffy was in the wrong ussop was still the one who needed to apologize cuz he said he was leaving and yet came back and basically fought luffy for nothing
