Sean McCabe :
I wasted 9 years of my life delivering for fedex. I was the type of driver that would come in super early, like around 6am just to help my loader load my truck. Not required to do so, but I am very anal about organization. I was a top tier driver, never made mistakes, always done early, always helped out. I went through almost 15 or so contractors. Treated like garbage, most of the time no benefits, always had to fight for raises, it was a constant free for all, pure chaos. But I did it, I had good days and I had bad days. The Christmas peak season was so depressing, never home working 6 days a week for almost 2 months. I made one major mistake, I got arrested for suspicion of dui. I am never convicted. It was tossed out of court because my blood showed I was under the limit, I was just hung over. They had me fired so fast, even though I was still eligible to drive. The contractors blocked me from calling then, they kicked me from the WhatsApp group and left my personal belongings at the security gate. Not a single sorry or thank you for your work. The job was terrible, but the pay wasn't to bad. But jokes on them because I got scooped up by an amazing company, making the same but stress free. I get a pension plan, full day 1 benefits, amazing home time nearly a month off in PTO and sick time. Never been happier. My point to all this, jobs are stepping stones. Dont be afraid to keep hopping from stone to stone till you find the one you enjoy. Dont waste your life away being over worked under paid and depressed like I did. Life is to short.
