I learned AFTER getting back home from our last trip that you can just go to 7/11, buy whatever, and just dump all the coins in the automatic tray, and you'll get your change back in bills and bigger coins

Lucky i have suica and pay with that for anything my debit card cant. Main use of coins when i visit is crane machinese and capsules toys so holding 5 ¥100 yen wont be good enough😂
