@flourishnutrition_: What does a nutritionist actually care about? 1. I don’t care about your love for bread 🍞 or any carbohydrates! I’ve had so many clients be afraid to tell me that they love a sandwich at lunch or sourdough for breakfast. Carbs are our bodies main energy source and should be included in a balanced diet. Aiming to pair your bread with protein, fats and veggies is the goal. 2. I don’t care what kind of exercise you do! Any is much better than nothing and as long as it makes you happy and gets you moving then fabulous! I’m not going to force you into the gym. 3. I don’t care if where you grocery shop. It’s all about fitting health into your budget and what works for you! I will never tell a client that they have to shop at whole foods to be able to achieve a healthy diet. 4. I do care if you aren’t hydrating yourself! Hydration is so important for thermoregulation, energy, sleep, your digestive system - the list goes on! If you get bored of water then try adding lemon or mint, or herbal teas work just as well. 5. I do care if you are relying on stacks of supplements. Supplements don’t replace a balanced diet!! We use them strategically for short term aid until you’re able to sustain your health through diet. 6. I do care if you’re constipated. Your bowel movements are an elimination pathway so we need to make sure you’re excreting waste daily. It also gives me a big insight into your general health status and diet. 7. I do care if you aren’t consuming enough fibre! You should be not aiming for an adequate vegetable intake but also a good intake of whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes each day. #nutrition #guthealth #healthymeals #nutritionists #weightloss
