The "secret" exercise for bigger arms... Rack Scrape Reverse Curls to Eccentric Reverse Curls. This is an awesome brachialis/brachioradialis exercise. This setup (fat grips on the bar to protect the rack and to give you a bit more friction) allows you to lean into the exercise at the bottom so you start getting tension sooner into the curl (works on Smith machine, too). I also find using this particular setup (leaning into the rack) allows you to do negatives with a LOT more control on the way down (because of the friction of the fat grips), allowing you to maximize tension on the brachialis on the way down. The Reverse Curl is one of the "secret" exercises for maximizing arm size (not a real secret but more like a neglected exercise primarily because of how much lighter you have to go on it compared to regular curls). They're humbling and are more limited by grip strength so people tend to skip over them. However, improving the brachialis can help the peak of your biceps by pushing the biceps up from underneath. It doesn't change the shape of your biceps but helps to maximize what you've got by having the biceps sit on a higher "foundation." I also found, because grip strength can be such a limiting factor on reverse curls, adding in some negative reps here was VERY effective. What I did was push the reverse curl exercise to the point where I was getting close to dropping the bar, then I did a quick clean to the top then pushed the bar back up against the rails, THEN fought the negative all the way down (don't just let it drop...FIGHT it). Leaning into the rack uprights allowed me much better control of the negative than regular negatives. The bar didn't just drop and I was able to maintain my grip on the bar all the way down. This method is going to LIGHT UP your bracialis and forearms. I did 3 sets of this (didn't count the reps) with just 55 lbs on the bar. Don't go heavy... even just the bar might be all you need to start. When doing this on a Smith Machine, you may need to spin the bar around so the hooks don't catch (set the bar on the stops instead). --- Want to build massive arms? Do THIS program for 3 weeks...
