Truthfully, I remember when my school was getting their assessment and it is so fake that the assessment, even if it’s positive does not actually show the school.. I truly think that they shouldn’t be told in advance when they are coming. Because I remember being in primary school and they basically would purposely orchestrating separate things to ensure that they didn’t have to see the difficult people and saw that we were literally told when we were allowed to make noise or not…. So it just shows you that the schools that are really bad get bad results but some of them aren’t that good and they’re still getting positive score

Ofsted is so fake like whats the point of it. I got interviewed twice, once by ofsted and once from a government offical related to education. Neither asked about mental health or the quality of our education from our own mouths. Also the students are VERY obviously picked because they’re favoured, not because they’re good at a subject.

I don’t thinks it’s fair that’s school actually get notified when ofsted are coming either. There are schools out there that have been graded outstanding and they are terrible, they spend a week getting everything in order and covering stuff up before ofsted come.

My old school purposely chose the good students that students who didn’t cause problems to talk to the people because they wouldn’t let offsted talk to someone random and It didn’t help out the students who needed help in the classroom and the way teachers would treat other students because they know the good students would say the school was fine

Compare England to Wales at the moment, Wales have Estyn which is less thorough and easier than Ofsted, the schools are the worst in the UK. Versus England with Ofsted, the best.

when ofsted came last year they told the staff "your wellbeing is our priority" and proceeded to target 1 young member of my department out of 16 of us for multiple lesson obs. they arrived late for meetings. talked over us in these meetings where we had to justify our entire curriculum saying "moving on, there's no time". then saying in their reports that we hadnt done the things that we were trying to tell them. keeping dept head in interrogation style meetings for hours and hours after school on the 2nd day. at the end of the 2 days when walking past one of the main buildings the inspecting team said "whats that in there, we havent been in there". so not at all a comprehensive view of the whole school by any means at all. they were the most unpleasant and demoralising days of work I've ever experienced

I get that it isn't nice to make school staff feel 'bad'. But how else are parents supposed to know what the school is like? It has to be publicly graded (in fact it should be harsher in my opinion). If you can't handle the criticism you shouldn't be a teacher. (P.S I'm not blaming the staff entirely and i feel sorry for the family of the headteacher.)

this changes nothing, there should be only two categories "meets the required standard" "needs improvement" this grading creates competition and added stress to teachers.

My school suspended every kid with an attendance below 30, all of the kids with uniform issues and the isolation kids before ofsted came round

The issue is the system is critical without providing the necessary funding and tools to improve it. The headteacher is getting no money to improve.
