Social cues and skills. My daughter started this year and it’s been so hard for both of us, but honestly, it’s also so beneficial because she’s making friends, learning how to socialize, and meeting kids from different backgrounds/walks of life which I think is so important.

My son attends preschool 3x a week 8AM-130PM. I definitely see positive changes such as social interaction and cleaning after himself. He also has a best friend despite his shyness🥹❤️

For me, he was struggling with speech and being an only child and knowing not know much socials cues. He thrived in school his speech went up 75% in a year and a half and he became so confident. I understand reasons for not wanting to be in public school but this was the best outcome for us.

So I'm not a parent but I have so much love for education and am currently in higher education despite home/financial turmoil growing up. Preschool is where I began loving school because it was a simple, fun introduction to learning and school routine. I remember the friends I made and many of the activities I did to this day! It was scary at first, but I remember that it didn't last long and it became something I looked forward to a lot, and I was in all day preschool as well. I think I would have been more afraid for kindergarten and even more disrupted by the enviornment/expectations of school if I hadn't been in preschool. Each kid is different though! I just loved school and my love for it was fostered well at home

We didn’t put our oldest in preschool and once she went to kindergarten, she STRUGGLED. She mostly struggled with being away from us, she cried every day and we would get calls from the counselor. She’s come a long way though! So our youngest were putting in preschool

That early in life, it's not even about "learning" that young, it's social cues, getting alone with others, getting used to sharing, following set rules, developing critical thinking skills, motor skills, etc especially for only children that are used to not having to share or play nicely. They will learn colors and a few other important lessons, but its more about emotions, how to control them, and how to be a decent human

Kids thrive on independence! The anxious generation talks about this a lot

I worked in the school system for 10 yrs as an aide. EVERY SINGLE teacher held their child back 1year from starting kindergarten, making their child the oldest in their class and TOP of their class academically😏 One year makes a HUGE difference in their ability to comprehend.

We started my son in Montesorri at 2 years old because we both work full time. His speech has sky rocketed. He’s gaining social skills, making friends, learning how to share, routines, etc. I think it depends on the kid but it’s been amazing for us, even when I was hesistant at first.

Well isn’t age 4 pre school? Thats usually only a half day or optional anyways. Age five is when they start to learn to read usually. Can you homeschool?

Preschool is a voluntary program designed to provide childcare for working parents, support for parents w/o community, & a chance for kids to learn. All kids are ready at different ages. All kids take to social situations differently. My 1st didnt do preschool, my 2nd was super excited to go at 4 & she LOVED it. My 3rd is only 3 & she is excited to go also because she loves socializing & group play.

My biggest reason is for them to build their social skills at a younger age with kids their age. I love hanging out with my kids all day but they also need that social peer interaction, I believe it will help them make friends easier when they get older.

Socialization, separation from mama, language development & kinder prep are the major pros! Find a private school who will let you do half days until you and babe are both ready for full days that’s what we did and it was an easy transition!

It’s only a hard adjustment if they haven’t been socialized and away from mom enough which is why it is so important to teach them social skills and independance.

I saw a lot of posts about kids crying being dropped off at Kindergarten because they didn't have preschool experiences and were scared. Definitely helps them get used to school environment.

Our school does half days as an option for preschool and four day school weeks for kindergarten until November. It’s wonderful.

I believe they should be taught at an early age, but, it's not a stranger's responsibility to teach my children and that's why we chose to homeschool. they can learn and study at their own pace, we all research things we don't understand and they aren't sitting in a classroom full of distractions for a large part of the day. I think teachers are wonderful, selfless people, I just don't think anyone but myself and their father should be their primary teacher

Wasn’t comfortable with it so we homeschooled. Anything kids can get out of preschool you can accomplish at home if willing to put the work in. I was a preschool teacher before deciding to homeschool and will happily never put my kids in a daycare. 💕

My son loved preschool. When he started kindergarten he was ahead of where he needed to be and had no problems sharing and socializing with his peers. He’s an only child so that was important to me. I didn’t want him going to school and being the bossy kid who doesn’t play well with others.
