C :
That key wont do anything other than open the door. There is no chip in it at all. need a transponder key and programming.

Chevrolé vanderbooben :
car keys have some anti theft features even in older cars so the key can really only be duplicated by a dealer or locksmith i believe

you need a chip too! without the chip it will unlock the door like they promised! but will not engage the car to start( not what they promised)

Usually the auto department at Walmart can cut them in store right as you wait

I'm with stupid ⬆️ :
like people are saying you gotta get a transponder coded unfortunately. Hypothetically you could cut the transponder out of your main key and tape it near the ignition, but be careful maybe look up a video

Mr.J :
look for a local locksmith, dealerships are over priced, if it's a mobile locksmith make sure the key works and ask for a warranty some use cheap materials

Christina :
Some won’t start the car just opens door. Most of ours will start the car as long as your main key doesn’t have a chip in it

Even if it needed the NFC chip, the key would still turn, it just wouldn't start. Those machines are awful and can't cut keys very well

I tried making a copy of my car key and it didn't accept it. I went to Ace Hardware instead, but they were gonna charge me $70 for one copy... $70 FREAKIN' DOLLARS.
