My kid went to a day camp where they made their own kinetic sand. And then they just sent it home with him. To our house where we live. I didn’t sign a release or anything.

TRUE. We had to hide our kinetic sand 😵💫😵💫😵💫 but also - taking slime over kinetic sand is wild slime is the WORST

It sticks to itself a little better than anything else. So if you dab every surface of your home with a little ball of it, you’ll pick it up. Just keep it moving in your hand or it will crumble and spill everywhere.

I (naively) got my daughter kinetic sand and couple years back and one of those big under the bed plastic totes with the rule that sand must stay in the bin. The sand did not stay in the bin. At least it vacuums easily. One of my ND superpowers is tactile issues so I hate play dough and slime even more.

We made rainbow rice by buying rice from the store and dyeing it with food dye! Much easier to clean up and still great for sensory play (and WAY cheaper). With kinetic sand, we've gotten to the point where anything that hits the floor gets vacuumed and trashed.

Our kinetic sand lives inside a pop-up tent. it does not leave the tent. Is the tent covered in sand? Sure but it isn't on my floor anymore. But slime is not allowed in our house

It does get everywhere🫤 What's even worse than that is if there's a sand playgroup at your kids' school. Who decided that was a good idea by the way?? I used to have my kids immediately take their shoes off, knock out the sand from them, brush off any sand on their feet & still the sand was everywhere. My house, my car, my dryer, sand everywhere. It's natures glitter 🏝️✨
