I think the met gala canes are fierce but also ironic bc a significant amount of actual disabled people aren’t able to access the met gala bc of the stairs🙃

I really loved Marissa Bode’s red dress. I know it blocks her wheelchair visually and I think in some ways her chair showcases the dress in a way that someone standing could not do. That said really that’s just in photos. It’s not practical. (Also it was so on point for wicked. Couldn’t love it more. Right down to the shoes and silver accessories. )

not quite the same thing, but in the past year or two, some guy did Something Or Other to his arm and they made his sling match his suit. and it was a colored suit too. very snazzy

I as a blind girl still need to get a white cane that is a glam cane! For prom I borrowed a friends sparkly silver one that they spray painted but even tho I have my guide dog now I need more fun canes in my life

I walk around with a rhinestoned crutch! I also decorated it with rainbow garland and fairy lights for pride! The lights are both for fashion and accessibility, because it allows me to be seen better!

my canes handle is an octopus. I really wanted something that was a statement and very much fit my personality. I love seeing others make their aids unique to them!
