@kenancars0: After driving hard and then stopping to park, the crackling or popping noises you hear are typically just metal components, especially parts of the exhaust system, cooling and contracting. When you’re driving at full throttle, the exhaust pipes, muffler, and catalytic converter get extremely hot and expand; once the engine is off, they begin to cool rapidly, causing slight movements and resulting in those characteristic crackling or ticking sounds. This phenomenon is completely normal and harmless for most vehicles. So, in short: the noise is your exhaust system gently snapping back into shape as it cools, not a sign of engine trouble or mechanical failure. #car #cars

for anyone wondering, it’s because the exhaust and the internals are cooling after being heated so hard. the popping is the contraction of the metal as it shrinks.
