It’s actually critical for their development. To allow exploration like this within reason of course is called risky play. Helps develop problem solving skills and awareness of surroundings

I dont "let" my daughter do anything. I tell her no, physically remove her from the space, distract her etc. she goes RIGHT back to the dangerous thing.
