I used to work in a restaurant infested with roaches and yes they breed like crazy in cardboard. We would always find hundreds in old boxes or under the register in the receipt rolls box.. it was soooo gross 😭

When I was taking my intro Entomology class and needed to make a collection, I was talking to a guy I was kinda dating at the time outside on campus and saw a cockroach on a trash can nearby and took off running to bare hand catch it and put it in a ziplock I had in my backpack for the purpose. He was very weirded out, but we didn't break up until years later.

I used to work at a restaurant and if I was that waiter I would be so apologetic but also kind of fascinated and annoyed that I have to go and deal with the crisis rather than sit down and listen to you. I actually love listening to people who are knowledgeable about something just info dump on me. also knowing that they are likely breeding in the boxes gives us a good jumping off point as to how to deal with it. as a random worker I couldn't organise pest control but I can discard boxes and search for other nests to destroy

Oh, god. I'm not afraid of bugs, but one time I was visiting someone and I turned on the light in their kitchen, saw cockroaches skitter away from the food left on the table, turned the light off and left the building. I still have flashbacks of those 2 seconds... 🫠
