@anxiousandinvitro: Here's what a progesterone in oil (or PIO) shot looks like. I lay down on my stomach, so my hip and butt muscles are relaxed. The shot goes between your crack and natural waist, so it's technically your outer hip. Notice his smooth quick motion inserting the needle -- fast to insert, slow and steady to inject. He rubs the muscle where he did the injection with a cotton pad (think deep tissue level). It helps the liquid absorb deep into the muscle. This will help prevent knots, muscle pangs, and pain post-injection. And you'll see, no blood! But if you get bleeding, it should generally stop pretty quickly.
