My runs become 70% easier when I remind myself to have proper form. Engage the core, land on the midfoot, no overstrides, elbows up & back, breathe through the nose

And for anyone getting shin splints I found that I was bouncing when running so if you lead a bit forward it stops the bouncing and didn’t have them on my last run

also! If we’re honest running is SO MUCH EASIER when you’re already thin. That doesn’t mean we can’t all do it but it’s easy to think people who are skinny are that way because they run a lot, and not that they find running easier because they started small. If you’re a bigger person don’t beat yourself up, move slower to start and get a strong sports bra!

also weightlifting helped me a lottt, i always hated running so much and even now my cardio is usually speed walking, but i just went on a run the other day and felt so good doing it and i realized its probably cause i’ve built up a lot of strength in my legs

I will die on a hill saying, you can just from 0 running to running a lot overnight. Running is a skill that requires spaciic form. You gotta learn that before progressing to longer and longer runs or u will injure yourself.

As a former college distance runner, my best tip for running up hill is to look down a few feet in front of you instead of up the hill. It tricks your brain into thinking you’re not running up a hill (at least it tricked mine) hahaha

I have to un engage my core or I get SUCH a bad stitch. I don’t have that issue on treadmills, but I tense up so bad when I run outside 😭
