How to make it: Heat 1/2 gallon whole milk over medium until steaming (don’t boil). Stir in 1/4 cup vinegar or lemon juice. The curds will separate from the whey. We’ve got a cake recipe passed down 4 generations to use spoiled milk/cream. I was also taught to just replace buttermilk with spoiled milk in all baking recipes and still do it so hopefully i haven’t just been taught bad habits passed from generations 😅
