When a human is misled by the devil, God does not control everything that person does. But James 1:14 explains, “Each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.” That means once a person follows the devil’s lies, their choices flow from their own corrupted desires. God allows this freedom, because forcing obedience would remove free will. So while God is still sovereign, He does not take over every decision once someone chooses evil—the devil can influence, and humans can act on that influence, even against God’s will.
