And before everyone goes all crazy in the comments being like ‘well the internet is my access point to the fandom in the first place’, let me clarify what i mean by ‘put your phone down’. I’m lot saying you should literally put your phone down!! I’m saying that sometimes social media and your image on social media can consume so much of your experience in the fandom that it’s hard to be involved in the fandom without the fear of judgement. The whole point of the fandom is that we dont judge!!! You can be who you are, whether that be an artist or fursuiter or just a anthropomorphic animal lover. Don’t get me wrong, there are some people who shouldn’t be accepted in the fandom, but still. If you want to experience the fandom, talk to people and find local furry meetups and conventions to attend. Social media isn’t everything, and those who are needlessly judgey in the fandom don’t understand that acceptance is a big factor in being a furry (in my opinion).
