Parents hit kids out of anger and dislike of their behavior, 100% of the time. They are unable to manage their emotions in that moment and lash out. Discipline is teaching a child self control, self regulation and self management. Punishment is teaching a child to fear the parent and behave in ways that dodge a parent's anger or disapproval.

His perception will change as he ages. We seem to compartmentalise traumatic incidents as children or youth. All it takes is one traumatic incident in later life to trigger a memory to create PTSD ir CPTSD. Thats when it hits you.

We live in an abusive society. Just look at who’s POTUS. 34 felony counts. I’m sure he abused his wives and his children. He is currently abusing all of us.

well its not automatic, its still as result of unawareness, their own trauma etc... if they didnt have that, they wouldn't do that "automatically"
