Whoa whoa, you might want to take the foam off of the hood, the engine gets very hot and having foam insulation above it won't be good for you. The heat can both melt the foam and also dry out the adhesive faster causing it to come off. I would highly recommend taking it out of there ASAP, lest you end up with toxic fumes coming into the car or loose pieces of foam falling down onto the engine.

I’m sure the sound stuff will help. But the road noise is coming from your doors and windows and any seal that has warn down with the age of the cat

Put the sound deadening material underneath the carpet and in the doors, a lot of the road noise comes from below
