anyone wondering.. only a person who's been on stage will know how hard it is keep track of the music with a plain ear. All the background noise makes the music turn to just noise too, Hence the earpiece.

In a room that big, she can't hear herself over the bass and crowd. The sound is also reflecting off the ceiling and back of the room making a delay for the sound in real time, that's why she can't stay on tempo without her in ear monitor keeping her on tempo. The sound in the room is way different

She hears the tracks, all the instruments, cues and a metronome. In a venue that big it’s almost impossible to stay in time without the earpieces. She’s singing out of time because what she’s hearing without the earpieces is essentially the sound coming from the speakers which is then bouncing arround the entire venue before reaching her.
