the cheap option would be spring loaded. stealth all the time and when needed pop whips into place and stays until rtb. if you have gone loud the plane can have a slightly higher cross section until home.

Tvc with no tail seems like lower hanging fruit. Even if it’s limited, you wouldn’t need must thrust to induce the same kind of yaw or pitch.

I’m interested in inexpensive, attritable weapons which could overwhelm air defenses, force enemy weapons to go active, sacrifice themselves to protect more important assets or extend their range in one-way missions. I feel like they are getting cheap enough to consider this.

When was the last time someone merged with the enemy? Every conflict with a US fighter I’ve heard of in my lifetime has been a hundred mile radar battle.

Couldn’t this be beneficial in another way if they also folded down like the xb-70 valkyrie? Could allow for maneuverability enhancements while also adding compression lifting for sustained super cruise and fuel efficiency… could be a very unique approach to modern fighters
