Maybe for customers that pick up their cakes, you can suggest to them to bring a cooler to reduce the risk of the cake melting! My mom had to drive ~2hrs for my birthday cake and her cooler worked perfectly!

My BIL had to drive our cake to the venue because we were outside the delivery range (about 1 1/2 hours total drive). It turned out to be the hottest day in October in our area - like record setting hot. He & his gf were so nervous about it that they drove to the bakery with the AC at full blast & to the venue with it on full blast. It also turns out his gf rode in the back so the cake could ride in the floor board up front near the AC vents. It worked out perfectly. 🤣

My daughter attended a wedding with a beautiful big wedding cake, and EVERY guest was served a miniature version of it. Can you imagine the cost? She was staying with me, so she, my son in law, and my grandson all walked through my door bringing home three baby cakes.
