Ok but aside from having to deal with my plants almost dying of thirst, when I do finally water them, I get a huge renewal of gnats. I’ve tried the mosquito bits water thing for the larva but it doesn’t seem to help. Any other suggestions?

I just added a thin layer of white pea gravel on the top of the soil. They can’t get through to lay eggs. It doesn’t affect watering or the plant. Mine are thriving since I did it and it looks so aesthetic.. lol
