@rideorrot: Replying to @Alcoholic_ Burritobaby sport bikes has the HP Harley’s have the torque🤷🏻♂️ HarleyDavidson #HarleyLife #HarleyNation #VTwinLife #CruiserMotorcycle #RideOrRot
the fastest harleys on the market get absolutely gapped by a cheap 600 sport bike tho. it's a huge gap between the two

Ya but you also have brands like Indian that also make bikes with that classic style and big v twins but produce an average of something like 40% more power. I don't hate Harley I just think they are outdated compared to their competitors.

Erm a 600 might not have the torque a Harley has but the 1000’s and up have the same or more torque stock for stock. Doesn’t the new $100,000+ Harley only have like 130ftlbs torque? The zx14’s and busa’s are 115+. Not sure that extra 15ftlbs of torque is going to make that 100,000 bike that much more fun to ride.

I have zero interest in going over 100mph. I’m just into cruising.

Sport bikes are usually around half the weight of Harley’s so they don’t need all that torque.

HP is torque x RPM /5,252. They both have torque, but designed to deliver it at different RPM. Big pistons can’t change direction as quickly but offer bigger explosions less times per second.

My V4 VFR 800 Interceptor not very fast top out about 155 slow compared to an average 600 sport bike , but torque like a Harley . I love it Nothing like the rumble of a big V twin.

First thank you for the attention. You are correct on that explanation. But what happens when we introduce v4 engines. Also I think that is unfortunate how expensive HD can be for what they offer. But as you said you buy what you like. Ride safe!

My little 88 twin cam was only pushing 91 hp but 89 lbft of torque.

KMac :
stock Harley Twin Cam 103 engine produces approximately 70-75 horsepower and 95-100 ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheel,
Hayabusa's engine produces 110 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm, while the 2016 model produces 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) at 7,200 rpm.
So I guess I have the best of both worlds more torque and more horsepower 🤣🤣

:the best way I have heard it explained is horsepower is the ability to maintain torque over time, torque is what moves a bike
