He later clarified his statement because people die for what they believe is true even if it’s a lie. NOBODY dies for a lie they’ve seen. They all saw Jesus resurrected, they all died because they knew they saw him rise. If they didn’t they would’ve recanted, nobody dies for a lie they’ve seen.
