My boyfriend and I are vegetarians with normal iron levels. Here are the key steps to keep it that way:
Avoid coffee, matcha, and strong tea — they can block iron absorption (up to 100%).
Even herbal teas (like chamomile) reduce absorption by about 40%.
Don’t combine dairy with iron-rich foods, since calcium competes with iron. Leave a few hours’ gap.
Top iron-rich foods: spinach, pumpkin seeds, lentils, tofu, shrimp.
Daily need for a 60-kg woman = about 18 mg iron, which equals ~100 g pumpkin seeds, 200 g lentils, or 250 g shrimp.
Also, if you take iron supplements, separate them from coffee/tea/dairy by at least 5–6 hours — otherwise your body won’t absorb much.

Te confirmo que lo del hierro es por la anemia porque me ha pasado. Hora de que mires tus niveles por si te tienes que suplementar. Las lentejas dan hierro y hay muchos suplementos naturales con hierro no solo la carne 🤍.
