🚨🚨 THE WORKER INTIFADA REMAINS UNDETERRED! 🚨🚨 Earlier this morning two current, and three former Microsoft workers along with two other tech employees were arrested for their participation in a sit-in at the office of Bradford Smith, president of Microsoft. This action was the latest in a series of worker actions organized by the Worker Intifada calling on Microsoft to cut ties with Israel. From the organizers' press release: the workers and former workers occupied the office, delivering a court summons notice that reads:
🚨🚨 THE WORKER INTIFADA REMAINS UNDETERRED! 🚨🚨 Earlier this morning two current, and three former Microsoft workers along with two other tech employees were arrested for their participation in a sit-in at the office of Bradford Smith, president of Microsoft. This action was the latest in a series of worker actions organized by the Worker Intifada calling on Microsoft to cut ties with Israel. From the organizers' press release: the workers and former workers occupied the office, delivering a court summons notice that reads: "The People's Court Summons Bradford Lee Smith on Charges of Crimes Against Humanity." 🧑‍⚖️ In addition, workers hung two banners in the space: one that declares a renaming of Building 34 to "Mai Ubeid Building" -- in honor of Mai Ubeid, a Palestinian software engineer who was killed in Gaza by an Israeli air strike — and another that repeats the demands of the liberated zone to Microsoft. The workers and former workers chanted "BRAD SMITH YOU CAN'T HIDE, YOU'RE SUPPORTING GENOCIDE! BRAD SMITH YOU'RE A LIAR! YOU SET PALESTINE ON FIRE! FREE PALESTINE!" This was accompanied with a rally lead by current employees outside of Building 34, a birdie deployment and successfully raised a Palestinian flag, replacing the Microsoft flag, in front of the Executive Briefing Center located next to Building 34. JOIN THE GLOBAL WORKER INTIFADA. ORGANIZE, DISRUPT, ESCALATE. THE PEOPLE UNITED WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED!
