I don’t think it really was coming from misogyny. bc every other TikTok that week was just people (especially swiftys) being emotional and how much there engagement means. I think they would have thought perhaps the swifty in their life would also react similarly. 🤷

okay,but QT makes it sound like she puts Taylor Swift on a pedestal because her music go her through stuff. What about how Hasan feels that TS has NOT ONCE spoken out about Palestine, something incredibly important to him? What about QT, who is letting it slide that TS has Maga friends that have really dangerous ideals? While I agree she deserved to be respected and be heard and they absolutely could have gone about it differently, she needs to self reflect that TS is not someone to idolize. BUT that's just my opinion. 🤷♀

i like qt but not every criticism towards taylor is rooted in misogyny. hasan especially im sure knows there’s about 100 very valid reasons to dislike swift that are entirely unrelated to her music. her white feminism that is often reflected IN her music is good reason to dislike all that she releases.

Tbh they’ve done this to her before on the pod, invalidating her perspective. Happened during the episode where she was talking about her dog eating onions and casting doubt on her concerns, Will even described her as “hysterical” at one point lmao. Even if the boys (not Austin he’s fine) mean it as friendly teasing that they play up for the pod, they’ve got to be mindful of not dismissing her, esp as she’s the only female voice and doesn’t have the same backup they do.

honestly i think any girl can relate to this no matter what their specific interest of favorite artist is. even if you dont like taylor swift, it sucks how women’s interests are belittled so easily. i appreciate that they apologized so readily tho.

QT loves Disney parks, they were laughing at her being a Disney adult initially but stopped and became supportive after they learnt that’s her happy place in her traumatic life. Her interest in TS feels different than Disney, watching as an audience, tho, and I think that’s why the guys’ reactions were different. Also, many stans are acting like they are doing ✨a feminism✨by liking TS and anyone who don’t treat that seriously is misogynistic. Hard to agree.

I dont even like Taylor and understand what she means. I dont like the artist but I understand the songs I dont know of could help her and other ppl.

to be a little parasocial, I feel like they could all stand to be a little less mean to each other about their interests. I've seen all 4 of them get it from the other 3, not just qt. I've cringed at some moments too but thats their dynamic, they actually know each other. I don't like that this has become such a huge thing or that it seems like qt was having a unique experience on the pod. its giod they resolved this and it can be done now.

I know she didn’t mean it bc she probably doesn’t know but the same thing she says about Taylor applies to Sabrina Carpenter. Emails I Can’t Send and even some songs off of Short n Sweet were REALLY GOOD and DEEP, but since people only know the happy upbeat songs on the radio and not the emotional ballads they write her music off as unserious

I'm not really a Taylor fan but I 100% got what QT was saying and it makes total sense! Will and Hasan didn't really engage with what she was saying and I would've been so upset if I had been in that situation
