@itsmekatevee: ya’ll this is a really weird video (for the 200th in the series) and I am sorry about that but ya know I’m just trying new protein bars and reflecting on my queer reading and considering what it means for Charlie Kirk to be gone and making cheesy grits with local foods #wieiad #whatieatinaday #veganfood #proteinbarreview #homecooking

he advocated for his own end and it makes sense to be conflicted/uncomfortable by this i’m not happy but im not sad or surprised

I feel weird. I feel bad more because I do NOT feel bad. Is that a thing?

“He should have to fix the world he helped create” literally my first thought when I heard. Like he just got off easy in a sense… ik that sounds insensitive but he’s just gone and the world is still the same

You’re not alone in the way you’re feeling. I 100% agree he should have had to fix the world he helped create.

You’ve been one of my inspirations to start reading again! I haven’t willingly picked up a book to read in like 10 years

While I’m not a Quaker I am a lifelong pacifist and appreciate that you (or anyone) maintain a belief in pacifism in these dark times.

I really like “what he deserved was to have to fix the world that he helped create.” I have a lot of Complicated Thoughts but that does such a beautiful job summing them up ❤

I've been eating frozen grapes as a lovely treat this summer. I have no judgement for someone who sticks to their values when their values are so clearly about loving people, especially the marginalized. 💜

Thank you for being brave enough to be vulnerable. I am right there with you in feeling so, so weird and complicated. I cannot celebrate violence... none of it is good. He was a very bad human with extremely harmful rhetoric. Those feelings existing together is rough, man.

Weird really does encompass my feelings on that event. This isn’t the ideal closure of his existence, I appreciate you saying he should have had to clean up the mess he advocated for. I want a better world and this does nothing for that goal. The wrong people will get public blame and hate and no one will get meaningful change.

I love to roast carrots in a glaze of olive oil, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and some salt and pepper. No measurements, just add to a bowl and toss then roast in the oven.

Thank you for your perspective—you’re right; he should have had to work to fix the society he helped to poison. I hadn’t thought of it that way. I have heard that his children might have been present and that is so upsetting to me.

I know this seems like a bit much but every day I feel like someone is mocking our intelligence. Because why? Why as a college that is known for its architecture program and kinesiology program (outside of agriculture and vet school) this bad? Not to mention the black you see on the limestone can literally be treated!!!! We learned this in our chemistry class last year as we did a lab on what weather does to different elements from copper to limestone. Limestone is the Manhattan stone. You mean to tell me not one student has brought it to anyone’s awarenesss that the black portions on the stone can be treated through either pressure washing, soft washing, or using biocides. It’ll be about 13,000k and more but a school that charges about 10-15k per student per semester is roughly about 500 million a year. It’s better than allowing the weather to destroy the stone which can eventually crumble over time to the point the whole building would need remodeled especially if it caves on itself when students are around which is an even larger payout. You can also utilize a sealant to protect the stone along with strengthen it with a calcium oxalate. I’ll find my paper from chemistry last year that literally stated exactly what happens to limestone due to weathering. It isn’t looking like the investment is worth the payout. Is this all a joke? Is someone fucking with us college students to make it seem like: “You can get a degree but it doesn’t buy common sense or intelligence.” Because I feel like that’s going on or that the wrong people are in charge so things to maintain longetivty and integrity aren’t getting done. This is what I mean by it’s seems like someone wanted a spot so badly but had no clue all that spot entailed. That they just wanted to get where they were going (like running this town per say) but actually lacks the capabilities to keep things afloat which will cost an even bigger investment. Also, these are the students you are sending out into the world? You mean to tell me nobody has said anything? How can you use limestone but not know how to treat it in a design? Is that not number one in remodeling or designing a structure is the maintenance it’ll require to protect its integrity and longevity? Anywho. I’m just a pre-med/biophysics student. #kansas #kstate #foryoupage #biophysics #chemistry
