 👩‍🍳 Cooking Instructions
Poach the fish: Gently simmer cod in just‑under‑boiling salted water (with parsley stalks if desired) for about 5 minutes; lift out and flake into bite‑sized pieces, discarding bones and skin.

Cook onion & garlic: In a saucepan, melt butter, sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook briefly.

Make the white sauce: Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk (and reserved poaching liquid if used), cooking until thickened. Add cream, peas, shrimp and flaked fish. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and parsley.

Prepare mash topping: Boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with milk and butter; season to taste.

Assemble pie: Transfer fish‑cream filling into an ovenproof dish. Spoon or pipe mashed potatoes on top. Dot with butter or drizzle oil.

Bake: Preheat oven to 200 °C (180 °C fan)/Gas 6. Bake for 18–25 minutes until potato peaks are golden and edges bubbling.

Serve hot, optionally garnished with parsley and with steamed broccoli or green beans.
