A national flag-raising and oath-taking ceremony was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on September 9 to mark the 77th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, attended the commemorative event. Also present were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, senior Party and government officials, deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly, and commanding officers of the armed forces. The honor guard of the Korean People’s Army stood in formation at the venue, solemnly escorting the national flag of the DPRK to the ceremony.
