Let me remind them of some instances where people were actually arrested or got into serious trouble for insulting President Akufo-Addo — under the same laws they’re now pretending don’t exist. 1️⃣ Appiah Stadium (2017) – Arrested in Kumasi for insulting Akufo-Addo and accusing him of smoking weed. 2️⃣ Apostle Kwabena Owusu Agyei (2020) – Pastor arrested after insulting Akufo-Addo and threatening the EC boss. 3️⃣ Oheneba Boamah Bennie (2020) – Power FM presenter arrested and fined over Facebook comments seen as insulting Akufo-Addo. 4️⃣ Bless Kodjoe Amedegbe (2020) – Picked up by police after videos where he insulted Akufo-Addo and threatened violence. 5️⃣ Corporal Frederick Kwaku Dzemeki (2021) – Police officer arrested for insulting Akufo-Addo and Bawumia on Facebook. 6️⃣ Salamatu Mohammed (2022) – Mother of four arrested for a TikTok video insulting Akufo-Addo and wishing him dead. 7️⃣ Raphael Okoe Ankrah “Okoe Killer” (2023) – Arrested and remanded after a viral video of him raining insults on Akufo-Addo.
