I feel like you’ve just walked out with the same coloured hair and $400 less. The colour just looks wrong compared to what you asked for ?

Box dye isn’t perfect but I have seen amazing hair dyes after people have used box dyes for years.

Girl, I payed $500 (last year), but my hairdresser was able to achieve this, with 3 lots of box dye and non-professional hair care. I definitely think that you deserve a rectification!

Hairdresser here! You are like the perfect client! So nice and super sweet even when not 100% happy, I’d get you back in to chat face to face first up messaging can get tricky, access go in with another consultation, give clarity & rectify anything you were unhappy with, you’d be a client for life I think - understanding it’s a process so setting us both up for the process ahead with the rectifying appointment.

Hairdresser and colourist of 40 years. Find an experienced colourist in your area. Social media is very helpful in this situation. Honestly $400 is cheap for a colour correction. Yes it’s fixable. There’s a lot of factors here to address. She may have been nervous about what was underneath. A test strand should have been done first on your previously bleached half side. You’re currently copper with bronze highlights which is nothing like the picture you showed. I feel sad for you. Hopefully someone will help you out darling. You’re very sweet. My kind of client.

I’m thrown by the ‘she doesn’t want to rectify it’ if I’ve ever questioned a result they’ve always said come back in and we’ll try to fix it. It looks like she brushed the bleach on? Like those home streaking kits. Did you get a toner?

Not a hairdresser but I think you’re 100% justified in not liking it. What was her reason for denying you back?

Hairdresser here. 1- your colour history makes a big difference, blonde underneath on the left side (if she did a full head of baby light foils (the risk of breakage is so high) 2-I would have done a colour remover first. 3- the ribbons of colour is nice, it's similar to yours inspo... not in tone but your realistic. 4- I think your colour needs more balance at the ends (brighter) Tip Outs(in foils). I wouldn't have booked in a full highlight, I would have booked a colour correction, I understand the stylist being uncomfortable to proceed, could be out of her scope of knowledge or she knows she can't get you to where you'd like. hope this helps x

Hairdresser here - if you were my client I would be more then happy to fix it! Happy clients is the main goal! $400 is way to much for that result!

Ooo yes looks very chunky to me feel like she took very big sections hence why it didn’t lift very well! I also don’t think it’s very fair to deny your request for it to at least be looked at and she what she can do to fix it that seems abit unfair especially after spending so much money in this economy 😅

Hairdresser here...what you asked for is achievable..YES, it completely unknown what you will discover once you start the process BUT mostly everything can be fixed and or rectified.. She should be able to fix your hair..it's not that difficult.. I'm wondering if she doesn't have much experience 🤔 and that this is overwhelming for her.

I can’t believe people are telling you that this is ok. A lot of hairdressers could have achieved way more than what she did.

Hairdresser here, you’re absolutely right in how you’re feeling and she should get you back in for sure to see what she can do to make your transition colour a little nicer. Sorry you’re going through this!

You basically just donated $400 to them, it looks exactly the same….I’m so sorry 🥲 although your inspo pic is vastly different to the result, there could’ve been a lot more done here and you shouldn’t have left too far off exactly what you wanted. Hairdressers are scared and generally hate anything colour correction these days, you need someone that is excited and optimistic but also realistic. I’ve seen “backyard hairdressers” achieve a correction like this because it’s a passion & creative outlet for them. But this - this is something you could’ve done yourself by throwing a store bought colour stripper and box dye through your hair. Find a hairdresser that agrees with your feelings and results of this other stylist has done (that way you’ll know they are good & not avoidant of jobs like this) or if you can’t afford it, deep dive the science and processes and DIY, you sound like a smart girl & will probably be happier with the results tbh. Sincerley a hairdresser of 20 years experience.

Hairdresser here! Im in 2 spots with this. Your inspo photos do look realistic so I can see why you aren't happy. That being said box dye is extremely hard sometimes to get out of hair and we go in blind even if we have a full back story. What shampoo you use can also be a factor of how it can lift. Sometimes even the best of hairdressers can't control the lift of some hair, sometimes its just so so stubborn. After paying $400 though I would definately want to have you back in the chair to assess it in person and potentially fix it up. You're right in saying that the smaller the sections the better result in regards to the lift and blend xx
