I used colored pencils for eyeliner on court days 😭 and black ice body wash on maxi pad stuck to the air vent worked as air freshener.

I truly believe that prison would be a great place to revitalize dying arts. A lot of them need lots of dedicated time to learn, they're great places to find a lot of the reflection and hard work prison is SUPPOSED to be about, and then folks come out with an incredibly valuable skill! There's so many talented people being held hostage by poverty and vicious cycles, free them!!!

not prison but i was in the psych ward during covid and i would use the strings of masks as hair ties, pants for heatless curls, and then we weren’t allowed to use our closets so i made a whole shelving unit out of styrofoam cups, cardboard trays, and strips of paper. ppl questioned my methods but those same ppl were keeping their clothes on the ground so 💅💅 sorry i’m resourceful divas

in my county jail we would trade with the kitchen where they would sneak and rip the stretchy part at the end of the gloves and we would use those as hair ties

I know Fl prison is different, but my dad was in prison in WV and got his electrician license. Granted, it didn’t matter because he’s a lifer, but he did have the skill when he got out for a while.

the prison i work at weeks have programs for the inmates, we have a tattoo program where we have guys that'll tattoo and the inmates can get it for like $10 an hr and once they leave they get a tattooing license, we also have the dog program where some of the guys will train dogs and they then get adopted and we also have a program for a selected few that work in the kitchen, they leave and work with the company we are thru

I was a corrections officer and the girls in county use to have better eyebrows then I did and was watching the cameras before lights out and we had two girls that learned threading they said it was more painful then tweezing.
