I like the idea of the channels, but I also like randomness. I want political content, but I ALSO want random animal and hobby and fitness and cooking videos in between rather than being stuck on a feed someone else curated

I don’t like being stuck into just people I have already found. I have stayed away from Skylight because the current home page is just that. I have not given up on it yet, but as it is right now it is not easy to navigate.

I don’t want to leave the FYP behind. I want to keep scrolling and find consistent content that I like. And if I don’t like it, I want to scroll on past it and the algorithm knows that I’m not wanting to see more of it.

Tbh, I’m nervous about this one. I know many of you want a FYP and I wish we had the resources to build one. But I think giving the power back to all of YOU has a lot of upside 💕 I’ll be making videos about this on my page this week!

I have high hopes for Skylight, but I absolutely hate the new format. It was way better with the endless beta scrolling, even if the content was limited to mostly political posts. I try searching for specific content and get no results. The horizontal creator scrolling is laborious and I dont want to have to think of a creator's name or scroll to remember who might have some content I want to see. I just close the app after a few moments of frustration.

The magic of titok is never knowing what you might discover. I understand funding fully, but I don't think creators can grow without something that helps them be discovered. I don't think that is detrimental at all. That's the heart of social media.

I keep popping over to Skylight hoping it will be my TT replacement. I have to be honest that I do not enjoy channels. I don’t believe that an FYP algorithm only works if it makes the user feel bad. I skip all ads on TT and there was a good run when my FYP was fantastic. This path you are on does not work for me. I am disappointed to realize I will have to look elsewhere. Good luck!

I love my fyp because without it, I’d never have seen half - no, 3/4, of what I’ve seen. If I don’t come across creators and artists I’ve never seen before on my fyp, how would I have ever known about them? I can’t follow someone if I don’t know they exist.

I definitely need the randomness of the FYP. I don't want to have to make another decision. I juat want to open the app and see funny cat videos followed by a knitting tutorial, followed by an advocacy post, followed by adaptable dogs. I can build a channel for that, sure.... but I'm going to get bored super fast if there's no variety.
