loopback on fiber are super dangerous if you dont take into account tx and rx power you can burn the port in split of a second

Ahh yes. I don’t have copper ones but the ragged old fiber patch cable in my bag is ripped down the middle for just the purpose of creating a loop back.

Loopbacks allowed us to take the fight to ATT when they used to tell us our T1 was ok when we knew the smart jack was clearly not working 😂😂😂

excellent, may I also recommend a network tone tester for finding your cable in a haystack of cables👍

just dont use them on long range SFP's, it will be a quick way to burn it out.

We can also make mtp mpo loopback with attenuation level from 0dB to 30dB

Saved me a bunch of times. Use fibre loop backs on a regular basis to prove the patching/splicing is correct.

these are a handy little Gadget to have when you're dealing with a remote administrator who is a bit overzealous and trying to say that your cabling is wrong your cabling is not working. when the whole time they didn't turn on the port!

I have loopback transceivers as well as loopback plugs. Sometimes it is necessary to also rule out actual switch/router SFP/QSFP ports issues. Sometimes in harsh environments, dust and moisture happens and sometimes people just start plugging in transceivers to ports that are really not suitable to be used.

We need to use an attenuator in this case; otherwise, the port could be damaged..😊
