@cascadiaclassic: Tarantino’s Chevelle 🎬 #pulpfiction #chevelle #convertible #stolencar The red 1964 Chevelle Malibu driven by Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction was actually the personal car of director Quentin Tarantino. The vehicle was stolen from the set of the film in 1994, shortly after filming wrapped. It remained missing for nearly two decades. In 2013, a sheriff’s deputy in Victorville, California, spotted the Chevelle and, after running its VIN, discovered it was stolen. It turned out the car's VIN had been cloned, and the person who possessed it was an unwitting victim who had purchased and restored the car. The vehicle was returned to Tarantino, 19 years after it disappeared.

Zac Davies :
So are we supposed to check all the vins when buying a car?

The Vin isn’t on the dash. It’s on the door jam

If I was Quinton Tarantino, I would have given him $50-60k to help out a fellow car guy. He didn't know, and as a good gesture (and being a multimillionaire) it would have been a good ending to the story. Simply help a hard working guy out for his loss and your gain!!

Tarantino should’ve given the previous owner some money for restoring and taking care of that car he didn’t know was stolen. I’m sure the car was insured and Tarantino got some extra money. He didn’t give that guy a dime which is wrong.

Huh? It was stolen from Tarantino….then sold to a guy who “restored” it….then it was stolen from him and striped?
