@peytonpohzehl: Not only does she drool excessively but she flings the drool strands nonstop. My poor baby! I’m hoping this eventually passes but it doesn’t seem likely at this point. She does not get sick in the car or seem scared, just the drooling. #helpme #help #advice #dogmom #rescuedog
This is a common sign of nausea. Your baby is car sick.

Baby is nausea:( literally try some of those motion sickness goggles. It sounds crazy but when I worked with animals and transported a few that I knew would throw up I used them lol

I tried cerenia and Dramamine. Actually got worse. I believe it’s more anxiety as she starts drooling before the car is even started.

My pitty does it too so we don’t take many car rides unless completely necessary cause he gets over stimulated

Dramamine works or you can ask your vet for a motion sickness medication

Can you start her taking her on short daily rides of a more calm/relaxing type? Harness and leash her, roll the windows down, and just slow roll through a calm neighborhood or suburb and let her learn to start enjoying rides?

We tell our golden retriever to lick her spit and we touch the bottom of her mouth, but both of our vehicles are covered in doggy slobber anyways 🤣

I think she’s got some motion sickness. My dog used to have this and she actually looked just like her. It may just take some time to get used to it. Doing smaller trips and , rolling down the window and just giving her some fresh air. My girl finally got over it by the time she was about a year, year and a half.

maybe getting one of those hard-sided inserts for the back seats? idk if your back windows are tinted but maybe seeing less would be less overwhelming

Our two dogs done this when they were in front of the car or back seat. It stopped when they went into the boot with a bed, worth a try like

My opinion, put a puppy pad on the seat and let her do her. She’ll figure it out. We really don’t deserve dogs. They are too loyal for their own good. We just have to adapt and overcome their little habits

Get them a seat. Being able to roam around in the car isn’t the best.

My girl would do the same thing and throw up I started rolling the widows down and she was fine with fresh air flow but my sister had to get a crash impacted crate and a mini fan and strap it down so there wasn’t as much movement and her dog felt safe and secure in the kennel all the passing scenery didn’t make them car sick anymore also just keep in mind if u leave them in the car a lot while u run into the store ac units can fail an start blowing hot air and give them heat stroke I know someone it happened to her pup didn’t survive I have a temp reader in my car now so I get alerted on my phone if I run into a place I absolutely can’t take her also aspiration pneumonia is a rare but deadly thing for pups and all that slobber from your pup can risk that then they’ll need lil nose oxygen set up and it’s an expensive process to get ur pup healthy again but please continue to work with you fur baby and find what makes them less car sick I hope you guys get passed it and have so many adventures to come 🥰 hopefully something from this helps you

Ask your vet for motion sickness medication or what they would advise you to use. Some over the counter meds may be just fine but always double check with your vet. My grandmas dog used to do this and she had to put him on meds now he’s fine loves to go for rides now.
