@cadeptofwaterresources: Large infrastructure projects, such as DWR’s Delta Conveyance Project, inevitably create effects on the communities and the local environment in which they are built. Out of recognition that the impacts of construction and operation are concentrated locally in the Delta, DWR has created the Accountability Action Plan which includes a comprehensive Community Benefits Program (CBP). With a dedicated $200 million fund, the CBP will develop ways to identify, fund, and implement local projects that can provide tangible, lasting, and valuable economic and social benefits to affected communities. This will include community grants, economic development, leave-behind / repurposed infrastructure, and agreements for community-specific projects. #California #Infrastructure #DeltaConveyanceProject
