have you tried wiping it off? If I was to make a very uneducated guess I'd say it could've been dirt built up on the bottom side of your build plate from touching it with your hands and not wiping it down ect.

the glue residue isnt meant to be there, isnt normal and may and WILL CORRODE the plate, clean it
