Driving it right now, the collision system isnt entirely random, but when it does, it will brake as hard as it can, which is definitely dangerous if you have a car behind you

There is a significant issue with all 2022-2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 1.6t engines. They develop what appears to be valve chatter at ~2,000-3,000 RPM, especially accelerating under load (such as uphill). Thousands of customers like us have taken the vehicle to Hyundai Service only to be told, "it's normal". The engine sound is anything but normal and Hyundai's touted warranty has demonstrated to be useless. We had a 2022 Tucson Limited Hybrid that developed this problem and were convinced it's been addressed by Hyundai. Unfortunately, we bought the 2026 version of the Tucson Limited Hybrid and the same engine problem developed in record time. This problem needs a Class Action Suit to address the heart of any vehicle, the engine in the Tucson Hybrids. I had this same issue with my 2022 Tucson Hybrid in the first year. Experienced the ghost breaking several times. Then it just kinda stopped over time.

The eye sensor connected to the cruise control is also flawed. If you wear dark sunglasses or hold your hand on the wheel in front of it, it will automatically turn off cruise control. It’s extremely dangerous and after having complained to Hyundai several times they basically told me not to wear sunglasses while using cruise control. Hyundai has recently had the worst customer service of any car company I’ve ever dealt with. I would love to join this lawsuit. This car is dangerous.

This happened to the other day. It thought. The car in front of me was too close it was not. We were a little bit more than a car and a half away. It Slammed on. It’s brakes in the middle of the freeway. I was going 50. Something miles per hour came to a hard complete. Stop scared the shit out of me and almost caused multiple cars to hit. After that. I was trying to figure out how to turn it off and you can’t.

You can turn it off. I got sick of the dramatic dangerous brake checks from my own car, so juat turned the feature off. 🤷♀️

This happen to me ALL THE TIME! It will just beep and break HARD when I’m backing up out of a parking spot no cars around at all! Scares the living shit out of me every time! Mine is leased and it’s def one of the main reasons I will be giving the car back when it’s over (I can’t wait)! 🙄

If you just change the forward warning to last minute and use the aggressive regeneration I haven't had issues.

I have never had mine break itself at all... is my collision avoidance system dead or something? I have had several close calls with bad drives pulling out or breaking in front of me and never noticed it do anything itself other than a collision alarm. It's a 2025 tuscon hybrid plug in
