How do people not know the laws of the game? You can’t be offside in your own half, but she wasn’t in her own half when the ball was kicked to her.

Correct call. Offside. Easy when you know the laws of the game.

It doesn’t matter where you are when you receive the ball - only where you are when your teammate plays it to you

Correct call. She was offside AT THE TIME THE BALL WAS PLAYED. Regardless of the fact she ran into her own half afterwards SHE IS STILL OFFSIDE. Free kick to be taken AT THE POINT SHE INTERFERED WITH PLAY i.e. when she touched the ball.

You can't be offside in your own half if the ball is played when you are in your own half, if you are in the oppositions half when the ball is played and come get the ball in your own half, you are offside. The Freekick should be taken at the earliest point of interference, which could be when the run starts to interfere with a defender or when the offside player touches the ball.

yeah. that's the right call. at the moment the ball was kicked she was in an offside position. it then became validated when she touched the ball - hence why the indirect free kick was taken on the other side of the halfway line. linesman was bang on.

Linesman is correct with the current rules. The restart is not from where the offside line was it’s from where the ball was first touched by the one who was offside

No that’s right. They came from an offside position and then the free-kick was taken where the offence was taken (where she touched the ball)

She was offside and ran back into her own half so Lino 100% right 😅✅

offside is judged when the ball is played not when the ball is received..

Being in an offside position isn't breaking the law of the game. You only break the law when you play for the ball. She played for the ball in her own half. That's the moment she broke the rule, and that's where you place the ball.

Had this happen on a goal kick. Attacker was in the attacking side clearly offside when the ball was kicked. She came back and was the first to touch the ball halfway between the 18 and midfield. Free kick awarded at the spot of the touch.
